Bombay Baby launched

Well 'Bombay Baby' has been delivered safe and sound. The launch at the CCA was enjoyable. Some people bought multiple copies as presents for their friends just based on what they had heard. A big thank you to them and hope that their comments will be positive. Post it on Amazon please!

Each day after the launch is challenging and exciting. New ideas on how to promote my novel has been given by so many in Glasgow. New authors are wonderfully inclusive, helpful and support each other. Sharon Mail, Christine Ravenhall, J.David Simon, Sue Reid Sexton V. Campbell, Ronnie Scott, Mary Smith, Catherine Czerkawska, Lesley McDowell, Chiew-Siah Tei, Delia Nadarajah, Suhayl Saadi and many many others too many mention have all been there for me. Online friends have kept me going with their fun posting and helpful tweets or FB status updates. Glasgow is buzzing with lit events that inspires me.
My local community has been great. Milngavie is a tiny village and has a cosy atmosphere of warmth and friendship. So all I need to do now is to get myself and my new 'baby' out there.

The next one is at Milngavie Library on December the 6th at 2 pm. You are all most welcome.

The Book Depository is selling Bombay Baby for £9.74 free delivery worldwide too! http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Bombay-Baby-Leela-Soma/9780956696717

More May Events on FB

What a wonderful cover by Penguin Threads by Jillian Tamaki? I had to share it with you.

The usual monthly meetings of Weegie Wednesday is on May 18th and Word Play at the Tron on the 25th of May.

I apologise. I missed out too many events in May on this blog as I put up the events list too early. Please check out details of all the events on the Glasgowlitcorner FB page. There are events on 11th, 13th, 15th 18th and the 19th of May. An eclectic mixture of words in play.
You can take part in a Graphic Novel group, read a media publication at the launch of 'Bad news from Israel', enjoy Poetry at the Ivory, even witness a Matsuri Festival of Japanese poetry and I quote: 'A unique event with Scottish poets Alec Finlay and Ken Cockburn, who have been travelling around Scotland inspired and guided by Japanese poet Basho for the past year. To accompany the 100-haiku word map of Scotland performed by Finlay and Cockburn along with ten other poet friends, there's music and teas from Japan and China, served by the Hidden Gardens' cultural cookery group' or be entranced by a Portuguese singer combining American blues with Argentinian national music. Love Words and the New Makar

A great Valentine's evening of love poems and some 'not so love poems' at the GOMA. Glasgow's enviable talent was showcased with poems that made one laugh, catch one's breath, blush reminscing or secretly crave for the big red hearted card on the 14th. The event was even more memorable as Colin Will took over as the new Makar from Sheila Templeton who 'had sizzled and scintillated' the Feds for a year(quoting Etta Dunn our compere for the evening). Colin read some wonderful poems and kept us all enthralled.
Two other events were taking place the same evening so some intrepid poets rushed over to the Mirrorball for more. Some of us listened to some more poems by other poets, ably compered by Gail and aided by AC Clarke. I returned home sated with words that rang in my ears and filled my heart with joy.

btw Don't miss the sweet meerkats(donated by Monica) posing so well in front of the shield.
