The final is Langside Libraries September talks series takes place Thursday 29th September at 1pm with Colin McKie of the South Glasgow Heritage & Environment Trust giving as a guide through the history of the Southern Necropolis one of the many projects the Trust is involved in.

Fighting Fascism, Fighting Franco
Scottish Volunteers for Spanish Freedom, 1936-2011
Saturday 15 October, 1.30pm - 6.00pm and 7.00pm - 9.00pm

As well as being a conflict that continues to generate considerable art and argument, the Spanish struggle was one to which Scots made a significant contribution, from volunteers for liberty to support for refugees
To mark the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, The Mitchell hosts a special day long event featuring film, music, poetry and politics with Jackie Kay, Laura Marney, Chris Dolan, Daniel Gray and many more.
