Important dates for your diary! Aye Write! Glasgow's Book Festival returns on 9-17 March.

We're working hard on next year's programme but we know you won't be able to wait that long so events continue throughout the year in Glasgow Libraries. Some of the events coming up include:



Langside Talks
Colin Mackie: The Happy Reaper
Last talk - Thursday 29th September 1 - 2pm
The final is Langside Libraries September talks series takes place Thursday 29th September at 1pm with Colin McKie of the South Glasgow Heritage & Environment Trust giving as a guide through the history of the Southern Necropolis one of the many projects the Trust is involved in.

Fighting Fascism, Fighting Franco
Scottish Volunteers for Spanish Freedom, 1936-2011
Saturday 15 October, 1.30pm - 6.00pm and 7.00pm - 9.00pm

As well as being a conflict that continues to generate considerable art and argument, the Spanish struggle was one to which Scots made a significant contribution, from volunteers for liberty to support for refugees
To mark the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, The Mitchell hosts a special day long event featuring film, music, poetry and politics with Jackie Kay, Laura Marney, Chris Dolan, Daniel Gray and many more.
